Area Information
The Shadow Creek homesites are located in Wilcox County, Alabama,
just two miles outside of the City of Camden. Camden has a
population of approximately 3,000 citizens and is the county
seat. The area is known for its rich history and features
dozens of antebellum homes that have been restored to their
original splendor.
The county boasts some of the best
hunting found anywhere including deer, turkey, wild hog, and other
small game. The lake is known for its wonderful
fishing--bass, crappie, and catfish.
Camden is served by J. Paul Jones Hospital staffed by 3 resident
physicians. Emergency medical service is available
throughout the county. There are three pharmacies, several home health
agencies, a dentist, and a physical therapy clinic.
Two grocery stores are
located in Camden. Other shopping venues include hardware
stores, dollar stores, gift shops, convenience stores, and a
florist.
The area is served by
numerous restaurants including the historic GainesRidge Dinner
Club restaurant.
Camden is served by the Camden Municipal Airport, a 4200 foot
airstrip. Commercial air service is available 80 miles away
in Montgomery.
The Roland Cooper State Park is
located 3 miles away and features a 9 hole golf
course.
